Specified Perils Coverage
Also called "Named Perils" or "Restricted Perils"; this covers your horse for death, theft or humane destruction caused by specified perils listed in the policy, including but not limited to fire and lightning, earthquakes, electrocution, drowning, transit risks and attack by wild animals. It is important to note that this policy does not cover your horse for death due to illness or disease, and is thus offered at a lower price than full or all risk mortality insurance. This coverage is offered on all horses from 24 hrs to 25 years of age (inclusive) and no health documents are required to purchase this endorsement.

Accidental Injury Extension
This extends the “Specified Perils” coverage to protect your horse against death or humane destruction resulting from bodily injury caused by an external, violent and visible accident occurring during the policy period, such as fractures caused by a paddock accident or a kick from another horse, and is typically purchased for breeding and rearing stock at the farm. This coverage is offered on horses from 24 hrs to 19 years of age (inclusive) but is not available for yearlings, race horses or horses in training. Please note that to purchase this endorsement, a Veterinary Certificate or Declaration of Health is required.

Colic Coverage
This extends the "Specified Perils" coverage to protect your horse against death or humane destruction resulting from colic, gastro and/or intestinal disorders and is available for all horses age 30 days through 15 years of age with no prior history of colic. This coverage can be offered on any horse within these parameters, including racehorses and horses in race training. Please note that to purchase this endorsement, a Veterinary Certificate or Declaration of Health is required.
